课程性质、目的和任务：大学英语4课程为海南医学院非英语专业本科生第四学期的公共必修课程。该课程的目的就是培养学生的英语综合应用能力，逐步加强听说，使他们基本能用英语交流信息，在听、说、读、写、译方面达到教育部《大学英语课程要求》所提出的基本要求。帮助学生掌握良好的学习方法，打下较为扎实的语言基础，提高文化素养，提高各项语言技能，为以后进一步学习打好基础。
大学英语教学应能激发大学生学习英语的兴趣，帮助学生全面提升学生对英语学习的再认识；应注重培养和提高学生的个性化学习及自主学习能力、自我发展能力和可持续性发展能力；应结合我校学生具体特点，营造个性化学习的环境，在培养他们积极主动的学习方法和思维方法、助其形成有效的学习策略的同时，提高他们的创新意识、创新能力、应用能力、分析和解决问题能力，注重学生听、说、读、写、译，尤其是听、说能力的全面提高，为学生今后熟练运用外语这一语言技能打下坚实的基础。同时，大学英语应充分运用多媒体网络等现代化教育技术，开展计算机多媒体教学，建立网络学习平台，采用全方位、立体化、网络化的教学手段，提高教学效率和教学质量。
教学方法：在教学中坚持理论联系实际，运用课堂讲授、视听法、任务教学法、交际法等多种方法，充分调动教与学两个方面积极性，切实提高教学效果。
成绩评定方法：形成性评价和终结性考核两种方式结合。
主要教学改革：计算机和移动技术辅助教学、微课辅助教学、翻转课堂等新型教学模式改革
二、教学目标要求
大学英语四级教学要求学生达到如下水平：
①听的理解能力：能听懂英语授课，并能根据要求进行讨论、发言；能听懂日常英语谈话和一般性题材讲座；能基本听懂英语国家正常语速英语节目，语速为每分钟130词左右；能掌握其中心大意，抓住要点。能运用基本的听力技巧帮助理解。
②口语表达能力：能在学习过程中用英语交流，并能就某一主题进行讨论；能就教材内容作简短问答和复述；能就所熟悉的话题作简短发言，表达清楚，语音、语调基本正确。能在交谈中使用基本的会话策略。
③阅读理解能力：能够基本读懂难度中等的一般性题材的英文文章，阅读速度达到每分钟70词，在快速阅读篇幅较长、难度中等的材料时，阅读速度达到每分钟100词；能基本读懂国内英文报刊，掌握中心意思，理解主要事实和有关细节。能读懂工作、生活中常见的应用文体的材料。
④书面表达能力：能描述个人经历、事件、观感、情感等；并能就一般性话题发表自己的观点和看法，能在半小时内写出120词的短文，能描述各种图表，内容完整、条理清楚，文理通顺，无重大语法错误。
⑤翻译能力：能借助词典对题材熟悉的文字进行较准确的英汉互译，英汉译速为每小时300个英语单词，汉英译速为每小时250个汉字。译文基本流畅，能在翻译时使用适当的翻译技巧，使其与原文在意思，风格等方面较为接近。
⑥推荐词汇量：四级起点词汇要求约为5000词汇，四级要求掌握的词汇量约为600词汇，其中积极词汇要求学生能够在认知的基础上学会熟练运用，包括口头和书面表达两个方面。

四、学时分配
本大纲供非英语专业学生第四学期使用，其中讲授68学时，自主学习24学时。挑选《新视野大学英语》第三版读写教程第四册和视听说教程第四册各6个单元进行课堂授课，其余单元放入自主学习学时由学生自主学习。

五、考核方式
(一)形成性评价（70%）：考勤成绩5%+课堂表现10%+作业20%+自主学习30%+课堂小组合作15%+期中能力测试20%。形成性评价低于60分者，不得参加终结性评价。
(二)终结性考核（30%）：采用闭卷考试。终结性考核的卷面成绩如低于50分，课程总成绩计不及格。
(三)成绩构成：形成性评价70%+终结性考核30%。
