课程名称:大学英语4

学时:讲授68学时,自主学习24学时。

适合专业:非英语专业本科生

课程性质、目的和任务:大学英语4课程为海南医学院非英语专业本科生第四学期的公共必修课程。该课程的目的就是培养学生的英语综合应用能力,逐步加强听说,使他们基本能用英语交流信息,在听、说、读、写、译方面达到教育部《大学英语课程要求》所提出的基本要求。帮助学生掌握良好的学习方法,打下较为扎实的语言基础,提高文化素养,提高各项语言技能,为以后进一步学习打好基础。

大学英语教学应能激发大学生学习英语的兴趣,帮助学生全面提升学生对英语学习的再认识;应注重培养和提高学生的个性化学习及自主学习能力、自我发展能力和可持续性发展能力;应结合我校学生具体特点,营造个性化学习的环境,在培养他们积极主动的学习方法和思维方法、助其形成有效的学习策略的同时,提高他们的创新意识、创新能力、应用能力、分析和解决问题能力,注重学生听、说、读、写、译,尤其是听、说能力的全面提高,为学生今后熟练运用外语这一语言技能打下坚实的基础。同时,大学英语应充分运用多媒体网络等现代化教育技术,开展计算机多媒体教学,建立网络学习平台,采用全方位、立体化、网络化的教学手段,提高教学效率和教学质量。

教学方法:在教学中坚持理论联系实际,运用课堂讲授、视听法、任务教学法、交际法等多种方法,充分调动教与学两个方面积极性,切实提高教学效果。

成绩评定方法:形成性评价和终结性考核两种方式结合。

主要教学改革:计算机和移动技术辅助教学、微课辅助教学、翻转课堂等新型教学模式改革

二、教学目标要求

大学英语四级教学要求学生达到如下水平:

①听的理解能力:能听懂英语授课,并能根据要求进行讨论、发言;能听懂日常英语谈话和一般性题材讲座;能基本听懂英语国家正常语速英语节目,语速为每分钟130词左右;能掌握其中心大意,抓住要点。能运用基本的听力技巧帮助理解。

②口语表达能力:能在学习过程中用英语交流,并能就某一主题进行讨论;能就教材内容作简短问答和复述;能就所熟悉的话题作简短发言,表达清楚,语音、语调基本正确。能在交谈中使用基本的会话策略。

③阅读理解能力:能够基本读懂难度中等的一般性题材的英文文章,阅读速度达到每分钟70词,在快速阅读篇幅较长、难度中等的材料时,阅读速度达到每分钟100词;能基本读懂国内英文报刊,掌握中心意思,理解主要事实和有关细节。能读懂工作、生活中常见的应用文体的材料。

④书面表达能力:能描述个人经历、事件、观感、情感等;并能就一般性话题发表自己的观点和看法,能在半小时内写出120词的短文,能描述各种图表,内容完整、条理清楚,文理通顺,无重大语法错误。

⑤翻译能力:能借助词典对题材熟悉的文字进行较准确的英汉互译,英汉译速为每小时300个英语单词,汉英译速为每小时250个汉字。译文基本流畅,能在翻译时使用适当的翻译技巧,使其与原文在意思,风格等方面较为接近。

⑥推荐词汇量:四级起点词汇要求约为5000词汇,四级要求掌握的词汇量约为600词汇,其中积极词汇要求学生能够在认知的基础上学会熟练运用,包括口头和书面表达两个方面。

5. Develop rational views of beauty and happiness

4. Reading skills: identifying the topic sentence

4. Translate attributive clauses

5. Understand the good qualities of being successful

1. Important points: The development in chronological order or the order of the figure’s professional development.

5. Develop an awareness of keeping a balance between environmental protection and economic development

【目标要求】

4. Translate sentences with subjunctive mood

5. Improve your awareness of cultural differences between China and America

【教学内容】

1. The main idea and the structure of Text A

3. Structured writing: a part-narrative and part-persuasive essay

4. Reading skills: finding out word meanings with contextual clues

【重点和难点】

1. Important points: subjunctive mood and cultural shock

Solutions: Sentence analysis and grammar analysis; comparison between cultures

4. Reading skills: reading for supporting details

1. Important points: the gender differences in thinking

2. Difficult points: Vocabulary study & writing skill—supporting with personal experiences and observations.

Solutions: Urge students to recite the vocabulary and check their recitation and their exercise

Combine the teaching of Text A with writing training

四、学时分配

本大纲供非英语专业学生第四学期使用,其中讲授68学时,自主学习24学时。挑选《新视野大学英语》第三版读写教程第四册和视听说教程第四册各6个单元进行课堂授课,其余单元放入自主学习学时由学生自主学习。

五、考核方式

(一)形成性评价(70%):考勤成绩5%+课堂表现10%+作业20%+自主学习30%+课堂小组合作15%+期中能力测试20%。形成性评价低于60分者,不得参加终结性评价。

(二)终结性考核(30%):采用闭卷考试。终结性考核的卷面成绩如低于50分,课程总成绩计不及格。

(三)成绩构成:形成性评价70%+终结性考核30%。
